Saturday 16 to Sunday 17 December 1989, the weather spoilt this year, it was wet and miserable. On the outskirts of Lewes we were met by Bob Adams and Pedantic Pete and a bit further along Mark Clough met us on his mountain bike. Had lunch in the Abergaveny Arms where Peter and Shaun Maskell turned up. It was a fast walk to Firle and as we wanted to get to the Singing Kettle we ended up running but to no avail as it was closed!
We camped in the normal place and once again piled into the Smugglers, most people were knackered that night.
The next morning we filled the Singing Kettle and got so comfortable we didn't want to leave. We walked to Berwick in the pouring rain.
